It’s Major time on the LPGA Tour this week with a star-studded field heading to France for The Evian Championship at Evian Resort Golf Club in in Evian-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie.

Home favourite Celine Boutier became the first Frenchwoman to win this event last year when romping to a six-shot victory and she is priced at 40/1 to successfully retain the title.

Ayaka Furue to win and each-way – 20/1

The Champions Course at Evian Resort is a difficult par-71 layout that has several sloping fairways, juicy rough to catch any errant drives, elevation changes and undulating greens.

Finding the fairway off the tee will be paramount if a player wants to have the best chance of hitting these tricky greens and Japanese ace Furue is third in driving accuracy on the LPGA Tour this season.

The 24-year-old has been sharp with her irons and ranks 12th in greens in regulation, while her putting has also been impressive as she is 10th for putts per GIR and 20th in putting average.

All areas of Furue’s game look to be in good shape and although she missed the cut at the Dow Championship last time out, she was on a fine run of form before that with her results reading T7-T6-T2-T8-T19.

Major glory has, so far, eluded the world number 21, but that could all change at an event she was fourth at on debut back in 2021.

Brooke Henderson to win and each-way – 22/1

Canadian Brooke Henderson has enjoyed her trips to this course and after posting results of T25-T9-T58-T10-T17 and T25 from her first six attempts, she finally cracked it here with a victory in 2022.

The 26-year-old returned with a runner-up finish 12 months later and she heads into this year’s edition in solid form, having recorded three top-10 and three top-five results this season.

Razor-sharp with her irons, Henderson’s game suits this layout and it would be no surprise to see her put in another strong challenge again.

Hannah Green to win and each-way – 40/1

Hannah Green’s sole Major win came at the 2019 Women’s PGA Championship but there are signs this season that a second one is not too far away.

The 27-year-old Australian has won twice this year, claiming the spoils at the HSBC Women’s World Championship in March before defending her JM Eagle LA Championship in April.

She has been bubbling along nicely since that latest victory, posting results of T18, second, T16, T27 and T24, and two areas of her game have been in especially good shape.

Green is eighth in greens in regulation and first in putts per GIR, while she is also 28th in putting average, and if she can tighten up her accuracy with the driver then there is every chance she can go all the way.
