Formula 1 World Championship standings for Chinese Grand Prix: Max Verstappen goes for four out of five
After Red Bull’s one-two punch in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, it seemed to be a monotonous season in Formula 1. But after the Australian Grand Prix, the third race of 2024, the tension is at least back for a while. Verstappen dropped out. The Dutchman was back in Japan, where he is always in top form: he won with ease at Suzuka.
Carlos Sainz
Carlos Sainz drove three races this season and finished three times above teammate Charles Leclerc. However, the Spaniard missed one race and so his Ferrari teammate is still above him in the world championship. Sainz will leave Ferrari after this season to make room for Lewis Hamilton.
The next Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, April 21. Then there will finally be racing in China again.
China Grand Prix
The first sprint race of 2024 in Formula 1 will be held in Shanghai. This means: extra points for the drivers. The number one in the sprint race receives eight points, the number eight may add one point.
